FAQ

Hey there! Here you’ll discover responses to frequently asked questions, a compilation that will naturally expand as my journey unfolds. I’m happy to provide a personalized response and potentially incorporate your question into this evolving list.

I’m named afther my father, Rudolph Oehlers but i’m called and most people no me by June (Juniour). So it became jTrvls (June travels). For more inside… check out my blog: Nice to meet you.

I’m was born in Willemstand, Curaçao 18 October 1975 where I lived until I was 9 years old and later moved to the Netherlands.

First I’ve study Steel Construction & Engineering and later Multi Media Graphics Design/Programing, Sound Engineering and Digital film editing & producing.

For the first 7 years of my work experience I worked as a metal worker at a truck manufacturing company. Later I retrained myself to work in the multimedia industry. First as a webdesigner/webdeveloper (Dot com era) then as a cameraman/editor and later freelance as a multi media octopus. And since then I always worked as a freelancer (Digital Nomad).

I speak Dutch, English, Papiamuntu (native), Spanish and a tiny bit of Moroccan Arabic, Darija.

In Curaçao we all speak standard 4 languages. Dutch because Curaçao is a part of the Dutch Kingdom, Spanish because the Spaniards were the first to colonize the island and Curaçao is only a 35 min flight from Venezuela also my mother is Venezuelan. English I think because it is an international language.

I speak a little bit of Darija because I’ve lived in Marrakech for 2 years.

Ever since I was young, my passion for motorcycles has been a driving force. I’ve always had a love for travel and have been fortunate enough to explore 22 countries to date. My ultimate dream was to journey across the world on a motorcycle, as I found the idea of a camper to be quite costly. It was then that I acquired a motorcycle, not only to fulfill my need for speed but also to channel my emotions and clear my mind. I realized I could embark on incredible journeys on two wheels, and that’s when my adventure truly began.

Well, let me tell you. This model has always been my dream bike., the KTM Duke 620, Back in ’94 at school, a classmate had one when they just came out; I rode it and fell in love instantly. 31 years later, I was doomscrolling on the Dutch secondhand markeplace website and saw a KTM Duke II 640 2001, that was cheap, looked good, and had low mileage. I like supermoto-style motorcycles so I went for it. And I thought, this is the bike I’m going to travel around Europe with. Before that, I rode a Honda CBR 900 RR Fireblade 2000.

My route is based on landmarks, cities and roads that I want to see/ride.

To explore new places, experience/learn new things, culture, food and to be free.

I intend to take a leisurely approach, allowing myself the flexibility to stay in one place for 2 or 4 days if I feel inclined. My priority is not to rush towards a specific destination within a set timeframe; instead, I aim to immerse myself fully in every experience, savoring each moment consciously.

Average 150 – 200km (93 – 124mi). Click here more statistics.

I shoot all my content with iPhone, GoPro 10, Insta360, and DJI Mini 3 Pro. Super light and compact. For editing: MacBook Pro with Final Cut Pro X. For more info about my gear please check the gear or stories (blog) section.
